My Yummy Vegetarian Cholesterol Free Glutinous Rice Recipee
SBHJ members not only like to try outside food but now start to experiment with own recipe.
This is photo from my 2nd attempt to cook glutinous rice, after downloaded the original recipee from Ajinomoto website.
A bit of innovation done here and there, make the dish cholesterol free and healthier to enjoy.
I had put in fresh shitake mushroom instead of dried mushroom. Purely vegetarian, except for the chicken stock seasoning from Tumix.
My recipee:
Ingredients:
500g Glutinous rice, soaked for 3 hours
100g Black-eyed peas, soaked for 3 hours
3 tbsp Olive Oil
3 Onion, chopped
4 cloves Garlic, chopped
1/4 tsp Mixed spices powder
1/2 tsp Ground Black Pepper
1 tsp Tumix Chicken Stock Seasoning
1/2 tsp Thick soy sauce
20 Fresh shitake mushroom
Methods:
1. Steam black-eyed peas for around 15 min or until cooked, set aside.
2. Heat oil in a wok, saute chopped onion & garlic until fragrant.
3. Add in tossed glutinous rice & seasoning. Stir-fry gently until mix well.
4. Add in black-eyed peas & some water if needed. Turn off heat when the glutinous rice starts to stick together.
5. Add in sliced shitake mushroom and mix evenly.
5. Transfer glutinous rice mixture into a metal bowl and prepare to steam for 20 min or until the glutinous rice cooked thoroughly.
It's quite simple and nice to eat. Hmm...I can imagine the aroma of onion and mushroom mixture. :)
